Eden Purple Tea.

Purple Tea is a variety tea of Camellia Sinensis that contains a coloured pigment called anthocyanins which is highly soluble in water. The anthocyanins are reported by Tea Research Institute scientists to have numerous health benefits just like catechins including; antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-carcinogenic, anti-atherosclerotic and antimicrobial. It is also contains catechins or polyphenols that are present in green tea and black tea, thereby making purple tea highly beneficial to human health. The purple colour comes out when fresh lemon juice is added to the brew.

Purple Tea is taken as a herbal drink. Addition of milk is not recommended since the protein casein will complex with the anthocyanins and catechins therefore lowering their bioavailability.
